About me
Celine Mensch is an Argentinian artist based in New York City. She uses oil on canvas to create layered compositions that feel suspended between dream and reality.
Her paintings often depict fragmented figures, dreamlike spaces, and emotionally charged scenes that blur the boundary between reality and subconscious experience. Without formal academic training, her practice is driven by intuition, personal study, and a deep curiosity about the inner workings of the human mind.
Her visual language has been shaped in part by her Latin American roots, where emotions are not restrained but lived fully, where intensity, contradiction, and intimacy coexist. That inheritance of passion informs the way she approaches painting: not as a detached observation, but as something embodied, instinctive, and deeply felt. She is drawn to ambiguity not as an aesthetic choice but as an honest reflection of how she understands being suspended, searching, occasionally terrified, and still reaching.
Celine is entering the certificate program at the Art Students League of New York at a moment of deliberate commitment. A choice to go deeper rather than wider.
